What is Art Garden KC?
Art Garden KC is a community-powered, Kansas City–based collective that hosts curated craft markets, festivals, and creative events. We uplift local makers, small businesses, performers, and neighbors through affordable, inclusive vendor markets that celebrate the art of the handmade.
What is your mission?
Our mission is to honor the handmade, create economic opportunity for local creatives, and strengthen KC communities through conscious shopping, creativity, and connection.
Where do your events take place?
We host events all across Kansas City, including the Crossroads Arts District, City Market, South KC, and the Northland. Special events also occur at partner locations such as community associations, museums, parks, and neighborhood districts.
What’s the typical season for AGKC events?
Our season runs April through October, with additional special events and festivals sprinkled throughout the year.

Are your events free to attend?
Yes! Art Garden KC markets are free and open to the public, unless we are partnering with a music festival or other ticketed event.
What can I expect to find at an Art Garden KC event?
A wide variety of handmade goods such as:

Textiles & clothing
Fine art & prints
Skin care & candles
Artisan foods

Upcycled goods
Plus: music, buskers, performers, food vendors, pop-ups, and community partners.

VENDOR FAQ
How do I become a vendor?
You can apply through Eventeny by using the Become A Vendor link for the current season or specific events. Applications open periodically and events often fill quickly.
What types of vendors do you accept?
We prioritize handmade, artist-made, creative small businesses, and unique or culturally representative goods. We also welcome the following, depending on event specifications with area partners:
Food trucks and cottage law vendors
Nonprofit organizations
Commercial sponsors
Community partners
Carefully read each event application before applying.
What is the cost to vend at an AGKC event?
Vendor fees vary by event, but we are committed to keeping costs affordable and accessible. Standard rates often range from $25–$100, depending on the market and location. The is no application fee to apply and we do not take a percentage of your sales.
Do you offer day-of vendor spaces?
Not typically, but we do keep a waitlist. Day-of spaces typically only available at our Crossroads First Fridays market. Carefully read each event application before applying.
Where do vendors set up?
Locations vary, but we provide detailed load-in maps and instructions for every event. Layouts, street-space maps, and booth numbers are included in vendor emails. 10x10 straight-leg canopies and weights are typically required for our markets. Though we occasionally host indoor or “tabling” markets.
EVENT OPERATIONS FAQ
What happens if the weather is bad?
Most events are rain or shine, unless extreme weather conditions make it unsafe. Weather decisions and updates are sent directly to vendors via email. Event cancellation announcements are also made on social media for attendees.
Do you provide electricity?
Electricity is not guaranteed at all events and is limited at outdoor markets. If available, it may require an add-on fee.
Do you provide tents or equipment?
Vendors must bring their own tent, weights, tables, and displays unless otherwise specified.
PERFORMANCE & ENTERTAINMENT FAQ
Do you have live music or performers?
Yes! Many AGKC markets feature DJs, musicians, buskers, movement artists, and live entertainment curated in partnership with Energy & Jams Studios.
How can performers get involved?
Performers can contact our stage coordinator (Eddie Bohannon of Energy & Jams Studios) for upcoming event info and opportunities.

Do you collaborate with other organizations?
Absolutely. AGKC proudly partners with community associations, districts, festivals, nonprofits, and local businesses to enrich KC’s creative economy.
